Western Province and Eastern Province seamer Thokozani Peter has joined United Cricket Club for the 2019-20 Western Province Cricket Association first division A.

Peter played 26 first-class matches for Western Province between 2014 and 2016, before adding two more for Eastern Province in 2017 and 2018.

He previously represented Langa Cricket Club, Green Point Cricket Club and others in WPCA club competition.

“Langa is a very small township and when I was growing up we had nice structures and good, qualified coaches. Langa people took cricket seriously, very seriously,” Peter said during a 2015 interview with ESPNcricinfo.

“We had Thami Tsolekile, Temba Bavuma, Malusi Siboto, Siya Simetu, Nono Pongolo. Some of the guys play franchise cricket now, some of them play first-class cricket. Langa Cricket Club was a big team in those early days.”

October, so far, at United Cricket Club

The start of United Cricket Club’s 2019-20 WPCA Ama20 Competition first division A campaign was hampered by defeat to Gugulethu Cricket Club, but followed by wins over Green Point Cricket Club and Ottoman Cricket Club.
