Wicketkeeper-batsman Zaeem Najaar and all-rounder Zain Allie have joined Primrose Cricket Club.

Primrose Cricket Club representative Ahmad Magiet confirmed the moves to Club Cricket SA.

Allie and Najaar have left the University of the Western Cape Cricket Club and Montrose Cricket Club, respectively, to play with Primrose Cricket Club in the 2019-20 Western Province Cricket Association first division A.

Last season at Primrose Cricket Club

Primrose Cricket Club finished in fourth position at the end of the 2018-19 WPCA first division A, after a dozen victories, nine defeats and one tie. Eight of their wins were achieved with bonus points.

Montrose Cricket Club are without Alexander as well

Najaar’s departure is not Montrose Cricket Club’s first this month. All-rounder Muneer Alexander, who spent several seasons at United Cricket Club before joining Montrose Cricket Club for one, has left for Green Point Cricket Club.

“I am grateful to chairman Razeen Allie and Montrose Cricket Club for the opportunity to be part of a club with great history. In saying that, though, I look forward to the new chapter that awaits at Green Point Cricket Club,” said Alexander.

“With what is a consistent club and team, I will do my utmost to help build on the continued growth toward a successful season ahead.”
