The Altantic Pirates have retained six players for the 2022 edition of the Cape Premier League.
Seamers Diego du Plessis, Luke Petersen and Jody Lawrence, who were among the 2021 CPL’s leading wicket-takers, have been retained by the Pirates.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Fritz de Beer, who was the 2021’s CPL’s Player of the Tournament, has also been retained.

Petersen and Kaplan represent Western Province Cricket Club in Western Province Cricket Association premier league competition.
Lawrence, Stevens and du Plessis are with Durbanville Cricket Club, Rondebosch Cricket Club and Victoria Cricket Club, respectively.
While the Dragons are the reigning champions, the Cape Vikings won the inaugural title in 2019 after beating the Hoeri Kwaggo Bulls in the final. The tournament was not played in 2020.
