The Cape Vikings have retained wicketkeeper-batsman Brad Barnes, batsman Tayo Walbrugh and all-rounder Alistair Gray for the 2022 Cape Premier League.
Gray was named in the Vikings’ squad for the 2021 CPL, but did not play after undergoing surgery.
He had featured prominently in their title-winning 2019 campaign. Leg-spinner Gray took a six-wicket haul, including a hat-trick, in the final.
Barnes, Walbrugh and Gray represent Rondebosch Cricket Club in Western Province Cricket Association premier league competition.

The Vikings, meanwhile, have gained fast bowler Marvin Williams from the West Coast Outlaws.
The Devil’s Peak Dragons are the reigning CPL champions. They beat the Atlantic Pirates in October 2021’s final.
The Vikings won the inaugural title in 2019, after beating the Hoeri Kwaggo Bulls in the final. The tournament was not played in 2020.
