The District Sixers bought seamer Jordan Woolf during last week’s player auction for the 2022 Cape Premier League.
The Sixers paid 2.8 million CPL dollars – the tournament’s fictional currency – for Woolf.
Woolf debuted at professional level for Western Province during South Africa’s 2021-22 domestic season.
The Sixers also purchased duo Christiaan Oberholzer and Josh Breed during the auction. Oberholzer and Breed were bought for 1 million each.
Batsman Valentine Kitime was among the Sixers’ purchases, too. They recruited him for 400,000.
District Sixers’ 25,000 buys
The Sixers bought several players for 25,000 as well, including Claremont Cricket Club seamer Gavin Dickenson.

The Sixers are owned by former Proteas batsman JP Duminy and coached by Cape Town Cricket Club’s William Hantam.
They finished in last position in the 2019 CPL, which was won by the Cape Vikings. The tournament was not played in 2020.
In 2021, the Devil’s Peak Dragons beat the Atlantic Pirates in the final.
