The Peninsula Patriots signed batsmen Josh Chippendale and Tertius Raubenheimer during last week’s Cape Premier League player auction.
The Patriots purchased Chippendale for four million CPL dollars – the tournament’s fictional currency. This was the joint-highest buy at the auction, after the Cape Vikings acquired wicketkeeper-batsman Taariq Chiecktey for the same price.
The Patriots also gained Raubenheimer for 800,000 CPL dollars. Raubenheimer struck a century in the Western Province Cricket Association’s Ama20 Competition first division A final against Milnerton Cricket Club at Newlands earlier this year.
