The West Coast Outlaws have retained Western Province stars Wayne Parnell, Jono Bird and Kyle Simmonds for the 2022 Cape Premier League.
Parnell, Bird and Simmonds, though, will likely be unavailable for the amateur tournament due to professional commitments at provincial level.

The Outlaws had recruited Parnell and fellow Proteas cricketer Christiaan Jonker for the 2021 CPL. But Parnell and Jonker ultimately didn’t play in last year’s tournament.
Simmonds, Bird and Western Province team-mate Tshepo Moreki were named in the Patriots’ squad at the time, too.
Fast bowler Marvin Williams, meanwhile, has left the Outlaws for the Cape Vikings.
The Devil’s Peak Dragons are the reigning CPL champions. They beat the Atlantic Pirates in October 2021’s final.
The Vikings won the inaugural title in 2019, after beating the Hoeri Kwaggo Bulls in the final. The tournament was not played in 2020.
