Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club have signed all-rounder Reeve Cyster ahead of the 2023-24 Western Province Cricket Association first division A.

Cyster previously played for Tygerberg Cricket Club. His arrival at Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club follows the exit of fellow all-rounder Morne Pentz to Rondebosch Cricket Club.

“I felt the need to change to focus more on developing my business. Personally, I needed the change from the club, but loved my time spent with Tygerberg Cricket Club. I am still looking to work with them on developing the youth,” Cyster told Club Cricket SA.

Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club captain Tertius Raubenheimer added: “I am so excited for Reeve to join our family at NGCC.

“Besides that, he is an exceptional player and his supportive nature fits perfectly in the culture we are trying to build at the club. This is any captain’s dream.”

Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club chairman Jason Wright concluded: “We are ecstatic to have someone of Reeve’s pedigree joining the club.

“Especially after the loss of Morne Pentz, we needed someone of a high calibre to fill the void that was left.

“Reeve is an experienced, quality and capable player, who has produced for his club season after season.”

Cyster was capped by Boland 11 times at first-class level from 2019 to 2021. In 2022, he represented Western Province Colts.
