South African fast bowler Migael Pretorius took a match-winning four-wicket haul on debut in the Caribbean Premier League on Friday.
Pretorius opened the bowling for the Jamaica Tallawahs and completed figures of four for 32 in four overs in a 120-run victory over the Saint Lucia Kings at Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts.
Proteas batsman Faf du Plessis was among Pretorius’ dismissals, as were West Indian duo Roston Chase and Rahkeem Cornwall.
The Hundred and Big Bash League star Tim David was Pretorius’ fourth victim.
This is not Pretorius’ first stint in a global league. He played for the Deccan Gladiators in the Abu Dhabi T10.
The 26-year-old right-armer was added to the Proteas Test squad for last year’s series against Sri Lanka, but did not play.
He has been contracted by Free State for South Africa’s new domestic cricket structure.
