Former Proteas fast bowler Allan Donald has been appointed Bangladesh’s fast bowling coach.

Donald will work alongside Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo. They previously worked together with the Proteas in 2013.

This is Donald’s first international appointment since the 2017 Champions Trophy with Sri Lanka.

He has also worked with England and New Zealand at international level. In domestic cricket, he has coached the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, Kent and Warwickshire in English country cricket and the Mountaineers in Zimbabwe.

He was recently the head coach of the Free State’s Knights in South African domestic cricket.

“Donald has worked with plenty of teams in the past,” said Bangladesh Cricket Board cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus.

“He was South Africa’s fast bowling coach. He is regarded as one of the finest fast bowlers in the world, counted among the likes of Sir Richard Hadlee, Dennis Lillee and Glenn McGrath. I am sure he will inspire our fast bowlers.”
