Former South Africa Under-19 batsman Dean Foxcroft has been recruited by the Lahore Qalandars for the 2022 Pakistan Super League.

Foxcroft was signed by the Qalandars alongside England trio Phil Salt, Samit Patel and Harry Brook – and other international stars – at last week’s PSL player auction.

Lahore have also retained former Proteas and current Namibia all-rounder David Wiese.

Foxcroft represented South Africa at the 2016 Under-19 World Cup before relocating New Zealand. He joined Central Districts before moving to Otago.

He, however, has not played competitive cricket in New Zealand since early 2020 amid travel restrictions imposed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The right-handed Foxcroft was Pretoria High School Old Boys Cricket Club’s leading run-scorer in the 2020-21 Northerns Cricket premier league.
