Thandi Tshabalala gets Kevin Pietersen, as South Africa Legends defeat England Legends

Spinner Thandi Tshabalala and opening batsman Morne van Wyk starred, as South Africa Legends beat England Legends by eight wickets in Thursday’s 2021 Road Safety World Series fixture in Raipur, India.

Tshabalala completed figures of three for 26 in four overs, as England were limited to 121 all out in 18.1 overs.

Tshabalala’s haul included the key dismissal of England Legends captain Kevin Pietersen.

Fast bowler Makhaya Ntini and all-rounder Zander de Bruyn took two wickets each.

South Africa’s reply was spearheaded by van Wyk, who struck 46 from 31 deliveries. His stay featured six fours and two sixes.

He was well supported by the left-handed Andrew Puttick and right-handed Alviro Petersen, who collected 23 and 31 not out, respectively.

South Africa reached a 122-run target with 42 deliveries to spare.

South Africa Legends’ next match will be against India Legends, who are captained by Sachin Tendulkar, on Saturday at the same venue.

The tournament also includes Sri Lanka Legends, who are captained by Tillakaratne Dilshan, West Indies Legends, who are led by Brian Lara, and Bangladesh Legends.
