A wrap of day four at the 2017 Momentum National Club Championship in Pretoria, where defending champions North-West University Cricket Club had their winning streak snapped.

Short reports

Defending champions North-West University Cricket Club (Pukke) had their winning streak broken, while the University of Pretoria Cricket Club (Tuks) continued theirs, in a tight one-wicket result. Wicketless earlier in the day, all-rounder Ruben Claassen weighed in with a vital 32 not out to push the University of Pretoria Cricket Club (Tuks) to the top of the standings.

The University of the Free State Cricket Club (Kovsie) achieved their first victory of the 2017 tournament, thanks – in part – to all-rounder Johan van Dyk’s key three wickets and unbeaten cameo down the order, which dealt the University of Fort Hare Cricket Club a five-wicket defeat – their fourth consecutive tournament loss.

Commanding half-centuries from middle-order duo Neil Botha and Gerhard Jansen van Vuuren, complemented Brandon Glover and Patrick Mambo’s two wickets apiece, saw Stellenbosch University Cricket Club (Maties) complete a comfortable 38-run triumph over 2015 champions Crusaders Cricket Club.
