Former Proteas captain AB de Villiers has paid tribute to the retiring Hashim Amla.
Amla, whose Test career ended in 2019, retired from all professional cricket earlier this week.
Amla and de Villiers’ international careers coincided for 14 years from 2004 to 2018.
“Hashim Amla – where do I start?! Not easy. Might take me a few days, weeks, months, years. I can literally write a book about you,” de Villiers wrote on social media.
“Humam – thank you for always being there for me. You’ve always been a brother who made me feel safe in so many ways.”
Amla is currently working with the MI Cape Town coaching staff in the SA20.
