Batsman Jordan Hermann will be with the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in this year’s edition of the SA20.
Hermann was the Sunrisers’ second-highest run-scorer in the 2024 SA20 – and hit a century against MI Cape Town.
“Jordan is a definitely future star of the game. What a wonderful player, very easy on the eye and I’ve tipped him as a very good star for the future, especially in that Proteas set-up. Keep an eye out for him,” said former Proteas captain and SA20 ambassador AB de Villiers.
The Sunrisers are the reigning SA20 champions. They are the most successful team in the brief history of the tournament with two titles. They beat the Pretoria Capitals in the 2023 final. In the 2024 final, they beat Durban’s Super Giants.
Their 2025 squad includes England quintet Zak Crawley, Liam Dawson, Richard Gleeson, Craig Overton and Tom Abell.
The 2025 SA20 coincides with Bangladesh Premier League, Big Bash League in Australia and International League T20 in the United Arab Emirates.
“We see ourselves as very different to the ILT20. We’re a South African league, with a majority of South African players and our ultimate goal is to benefit South African players,” said SA20 league commissioner Graeme Smith.
