Seamer Alfred Mothoa has moved to North West ahead of South Africa’s 2025-26 domestic season.
Mothoa was at the Warriors in division one for two seasons – and previously played for the Titans and Knights.
“I always wanted to go to Potchefstroom, even before I went to the Warriors, but obviously things did not work out. But, yes, I am at North West now,” Mothoa told OFM.
“I enjoyed Port Elizabeth and I think I left a mark on the youngsters there. It’s time for me to move on. I am 35 years old, but I feel I have a few more years in me to push through.
“I like how North West play cricket – they play hard cricket. Even though they have not won any trophies recently, they are edging closer every season.
“I want to get into the North West environment and add value. Hopefully, I can help the youngsters and work well with head coach Craig Alexander and the team.”
Meanwhile, in division two, Limpopo are hiring a new head coach.
Head coach Gordon Parsons, who was appointed in 2023, has left Limpopo.
Limpopo listed several requirements for the role, including:
- “At least five years of cricket coaching experience;
- “ability to motivate, lead, and empower players to achieve individual goals;
- “commitment to transformation and development;
- “command the respect of the players; and
- “strong leadership, people and diversity management skills.”
