Durban’s Super Giants have hired former Proteas fast bowler Allan Donald as bowling coach for the 2025 edition of the SA20.

Donald has succeeded former Durban’s Super Giants bowling coach Morne Morkel.

“I have watched the SA20 and now to be involved in it will be huge. I am looking forward to this role. The tournament has been magnificent,” said Donald.

Donald will work alongside former Proteas team-mates Lance Klusener and Jonty Rhodes at the Super Giants. Klusener and Rhodes are head coach and fielding coach, respectively.

“I am also looking forward to working with my old team-mates – Lance and Jonty,” added Donald.

Durban’s Super Giants lost the 2024 SA20 final to the Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

“Obviously we missed out in last year’s final. I have no doubt, this team, with its leadership and resilience, will bounce right back this time,” concluded Donald.

The Durban franchise will have several overseas starts for the 2025 SA20, including Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson, England seamer Chris Woakes and West Indies batsman Brandon King.

Proteas Keshav Maharaj, Heinrich Klaasen and Wiaan Mulder are among the Super Giants’ squad.
