Proteas limited-overs bowling coach Anton Roux has joined the Delhi Capitals’ coaching staff for the 2025 Indian Premier League.
Roux worked with South Africa during the recent Champions Trophy – and has been hired by Delhi as a fielding coach.
“Gnaneswara Rao and Anton Roux joining as fielding coaches. The duo will be working alongside head coach Hemang Badani, assistant coach Matthew Mott and bowling coach Munaf Patel” read a statement from the Delhi Capitals.
Roux has also worked with Sri Lanka and the Netherlands in international cricket – and Nottinghamshire in England, Otago in New Zealand and KwaZulu-Natal in South Africda.
“Roux is known for his knack of helping young talent excel and brings a wealth of coaching experience. He has previously most notably served as the Proteas’ bowling coach and also as Sri Lanka’s fielding coach,” continued the Capitals’ statement.
South Africans Tristan Stubbs, Donovan Ferreira and Faf du Plessis are in Delhi’s squad for this year’s IPL.
Delhi have never won an IPL title. The Kolkata Knight Riders are the reigning champions.
