Western Province named spinner Asakhe Tsaka in the XI for Sunday’s One-Day Cup fixture against Boland in Paarl.
This is Tsaka’s List A debut. He represents the University of the Western Cape Cricket Club in the Western Province Cricket Association premier league.
Proteas cricketers Tony de Zorzi and George Linde returned to the Western Province XI – and Claremont Cricket Club batsman Beni Hansen was retained.
Claremont Cricket Club leg-spinner Josh Breed and Durbanville Cricket Club seamer Jody Lawrence were omitted, while Green Point Cricket Club seamer Wesley Bedja returned.
Western Province are the reigning One-Day Cup, division one, champions, but currently occupy last position on this season’s points table.
