Ashwell Prince: Tristan Stubbs building strong case

Former Western Province coach Ashwell Prince has praised Eastern Province batsman Tristan Stubbs after another impressive performance in the CSA T20 Challenge.

Stubbs struck 80 not out from a mere 31 deliveries in the Warriors’ defeat to the Dolphins in Port Elizabeth on Saturday. His innings featured three fours and eight sixes.

Earlier in the tournament, he collected 21 and 51 against Western Province and the Titans, respectively.

“[Stubbs] certainly building a strong case for himself for the T20 World Cup later this year,” wrote Prince on Twitter.

The Proteas have been pooled with India, Bangladesh and Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup, which will be played in October and November.
