Fast bowler Renaldo Meyer has left Avendale Cricket Club for Victoria Cricket Club.

Meyer was in protracted conversation with Milnerton Cricket Club, but ultimately opted for fellow Western Province Cricket Association premier league unit, Victoria Cricket Club.

“I’m joining Victoria this season. Yes, I did talk to Milnerton, but I had a long think about it and I will go to Victoria,” he told Club Cricket SA.

The 24-year-old right-armer has made three first-class appearances for Western Province – and represented the Cricket South Africa franchise colts in the Future Cup earlier this year.

Victoria Cricket Club named the experienced Dean Oosterwyk head coach earlier this year.

Previously coached by the talented Cheslyn Lodewyk, Victoria Cricket Club occupied 10th position in the 2017-18 premier league standings.

“We would like to congratulate Dean, as he takes on the position as the new head coach,” read a statement from Victoria Cricket Club.

“Dean comes back home after a short stint with Claremont Cricket Club, where he gained further coaching experience. Dean represented both Victoria Cricket Club and the University of the Western Cape Cricket Club.”

First division B outfit Rylands Cricket Club’s Yaseen Petersen, meanwhile, has joined Avendale Cricket Club in the first division A.
