Seamer Jody Lawrence will join Avendale Cricket Club, for the 2018-19 Western Province Cricket Association season.
Lawrence represented the University of the Western Cape Cricket Club for several premier league campaigns – and will join an Avendale Cricket Club outfit eager to improve on a fourth-place finish in the 2017-19 first division A.
Avendale Cricket Club beat Primrose Cricket Club, Strandfontein Cricket Club, Tygerberg Cricket Club and Kraaifontein Cricket Club – and lost to Green Point Cricket Club, United Cricket Club and Edgemead Cricket Club – prior to the cancellation of the season due to the ongoing drought in Cape Town and surrounds.
“I will be joining Avendale CC this season and see from there onwards,” Lawrence told Club Cricket SA.
The University of the Western Cape Cricket Club, meanwhile, have secured the services of batsman Givon Christian from Montrose Cricket Club.
UWC Cricket Club finished fourth to first-placed Durbanville Cricket Club, second-placed Bellville Cricket Club and third-placed Ottoman Cricket Club in the 2017-18 premier league.
