Babette de Leede moves to Somerset West Cricket Club

Wicketkeeper-batter Babette de Leede has joined Somerset West Cricket Club for the 2024-25 Western Province Cricket Association women’s premier league.

De Leede has been capped 76 times by Netherlands Women in international cricket – and plays for Western Province Women.

She was previously with Mutual Cricket Club in the WPCA women’s premier league.

“Welcome, Babette, to the SWCC family. On behalf of the committee and SWCC, we hope you have a great stay. We are looking forward to an exciting season with you,” read a statement from Somerset West Cricket Club.

Meanwhile, Somerset West Cricket Club’s Estelle Russouw has exited for Durbanville Cricket Club – and Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club’s Estavia Marks has moved to Hanover Park Cricket Club.

“We will pull out all stops to compete in the women’s premier league this season. Sedicka Bardien will captain the team with Nawaal Hanslo and Estavia as vice-captains,” read a statement from Hanover Park Cricket Club.
