Seamer Simphiwe Yiba has left Bellville Cricket Club for Rondebosch Cricket Club, ahead of the 2019-20 Western Province Cricket Association premier league.
Yiba and Rondebosch Cricket Club confirmed the move to Club Cricket SA.
Right-armer Yiba took seven wickets in a dozen fixtures during Bellville Cricket Club’s 2018-19 WPCA premier league campaign, according to WebSports.
He played three first-class fixtures for Western Province in 2015 – and has also represented Western Province Cricket Club and Primrose Cricket Club.
Yiba will join fellow seamers Dale Kleinhans and Wesley Bedja at Rondebosch Cricket Club. Kleinhans and Bedja have left Avendale Cricket Club and Western Province Cricket Club, respectively.
Kleinhans was theĀ leading wicket-taker among seamers in the 2018-19 first division A. His 41 wickets were topped only by spinners Luke Stevens and Chester Alexander’s 44 each, Franco Kasner’s 49 and David Schierhout’s 51.
“We are glad to have Dale join us. He knows how to take wickets – and comes with loads of experience. I can’t wait to see him test himself in the premier league. I’m pretty sure he is going to be a great success,” said Rondebosch Cricket Club player-coach Sean Hendrieck.
