Bergvliet Cricket Club have hired head coach Shane Lewis for the 2023-24 Western Province Cricket Association first division C.
Lewis previously worked with Vikings Cricket Club in the WPCA first division A.
Bergvliet Cricket Club were promoted from the WPCA second division in 2022 and, a year later, won the first division D title.
They are also the reigning Ama20 Competition first division D champions.
Karstens, van Willingh stay – and Petersen joins
Bergvliet Cricket Club have retained captain Brydon Karstens and director of cricket Adam van Willingh.
“I am extremely positive for the upcoming season. We retain our four competitive teams in various leagues and look forward to being a competitive force while maintaining the fundamentals of fair play and fun,” said Bergvliet Cricket Club chairman Tim Scholtz.
“Meanwhile, Tess Petersen becomes the first female committee member in our club’s history. She will be taking a leading role in the development of women’s cricket at BCC.”
