Blue Bells Cricket Club largely stick with tried and tested

Blue Bells Cricket Club, who will field teams in the Western Province Cricket Association’s first division C, reserve league G, third division B and third division C during the 2015-16 season, announced their new executive committee at Sunday’s annual general meeting.
The popular Yusuf Adams has been retained as president, entering a third season in this capacity, with vice-chairman Irafaan Sambo appointed as his deputy.

Samir Abdul will perform the role of treasurer, with Ridwaan Toefy his assistant. Secretary Toyer Smith, meanwhile, will be aided by a new appointment in assistant secretary Aslam Hartnick.

The trio of Faick Davids, Niezaam Kherekar and Saadiq Isaacs have been named as additional executive committee members, while Zaahier Adams and Ghalied Sambo will undertake the fundraising convenor and junior cricket convenor posts respectively.

Established over five decades ago and based in Grassy Park, Blue Bells Cricket Club are the reigning second division A Ama20 Competition champions.

They have been pooled with Elsies River Cricket Club/Northlink Cricket Club, Bonteheuwel Cricket Club, Bellville South Cricket Club and Khayelitsha Cricket Club for the 2015-16 tournament.
