Bohemian Cricket Club beat Montrose Cricket Club in the final of the inaugural Veterans Cricket Association of South Africa Club Championship last week.
Bohemian Cricket Club from Border and Montrose Cricket Club from Western Province finished in first and second position, respectively, across the five-team standings.
In the final, opener David Goss top-scored with 65 in Bohemian Cricket Club’s total of 126 for seven in 20 overs. Montrose Cricket Club first-change bowler Ridiwaan Williams completed figures of three for 15 in four overs.
In reply, Montrose Cricket Club were limited to 125 for five. All-rounder Adi Jackson top-scored with 42 not out. Bohemian Cricket Club second-change bowler Russel Krug took two for 29 in four overs.
Gauteng’s Old Edwardians Cricket Club, KwaZulu-Natal’s Amanzimtoti Cricket Club and Northerns’ Police Cricket Club ended third, fourth and fifth in the standings, respectively.

Bohemian Cricket Club’s Jason Kumm was named bowler of the tournament for eight wickets in three matches, including a hat-trick.
Amanzimtoti Cricket Club’s Melvyn Jackson scored the most runs overall – 157 in four innings.
