Boland have contracted batsman Janneman Malan ahead of the 2023-24 domestic season in South Africa.
Malan was centrally contracted by Cricket South Africa. He lost that contract last month, though.
“In the case of Janneman, he’s such a talented player that it was a no-brainer to offer him a contract,” Boland chief executive officer James Fortuin told Rapport.
Proteas batsman Keegan Petersen, meanwhile, has returned to Boland after stints at the Knights and Dolphins.
“We’re happy to welcome back a player who left us for the Knights in 2016,” added Fortuin.
“After that Keegan was off to the Dolphins and now it’s back to us, so this is full circle. Let’s hope it’s where he stays to finish his career.”
