Cricket South Africa are investigating the inaugural edition of the Boland T10.

The tournament, which was played for the first time in September 2024, is being investigated by CSA’s anti-corruption unit.

The six-team tournament comprised the Stellenbosch Kings, Paarl Rocks, Northern Raiders, West Coast Blues, Overberg Indwe and Wellington Wolves.

Overberg Indwe all-rounder Lehan Botha and Glenton Stuurman reported offers from potential match-fixers during the tournament. Botha and Stuurman rejected the offers.

“Basically, Glenton was offered R20,000 if he was willing to give information. He received the offer via Whatsapp,” reported Rapport.

Indwe coach James Albanie added: “There was manipulation from the sponsors after our game against the Wolves.

“We won the match against the Wolves, but this was changed because we were told that the sponsors would withdraw if it wasn’t. I was scolded for sticking to our guns and insisting that the original result should stand. The umpires were also of this view.

“Afterwards I discussed it all with our team and we decided that because it was an aspirational tournament, we would abide by the sponsors’ wishes.”

The Stellenbosch Kings won the 2024 Boland T10 title. They beat the Paarl Rocks in the final.
