Brackenfell Cricket Club announce overseas pro, returns for second stint

Chris Dent.Chris Dent.

Batsman Chris Dent will rejoin Brackenfell Cricket Club for the 2022-23 Western Province Cricket Association season.

This will be Dent’s second stint with Brackenfell Cricket Club. He played for them during the 2019-20 WPCA premier league – and struck two centuries. He also hit a ton for Brackenfell Cricket Club in the Ama20 Competition.

Dent has been a relatively permanent fixture in Gloucestershire’s XI during the County Championship, T20 Blast and One-Day Cup this year.

“A familiar face for us, Chris joins after playing for the club in the 2019-2020 season. During the 2019-2020 season, Chris scored 547 runs at an average of 60 for Brackenfell Cricket Club. This included three centuries,” read a statement from the club.

“With over 10,000 first-class runs and leading Gloucestershire for several years, the club is over the moon that Chris will be back in South Africa and will be playing for Brackenfell for yet another season.

“We would like to thank CPT Cricket Tours for assisting us with this signing.”
