Brackenfell Cricket Club sign 40-year-old former Warriors batsman Bevan Bennett

Brackenfell Cricket Club have signed former Border and Warriors batsman Bevan Bennett ahead of the 2022-23 Western Province Cricket Association premier league.

Bennett made 69 first-class appearances for Border and 19 for the Warriors from from 2002 to 2014. He also had a stint with Western Province.

“I am very happy to add Bevan to our group. His playing and coaching experience makes him exactly the type of individual we want at Brackenfell Cricket Club,” said head of cricket Francois Gantz.

“My goal is to build a balanced group of youth and experience, so that we do not only compete, but also grow our youngsters. For this reason, Bevan, is a great addition to our plans.”

Other new signings for Brackenfell Cricket Club

The 40-year-old Bennett is the latest among a series of new recruits for Brackenfell Cricket Club.

They have also signed batsmen Romano Ramoo, Eddie Moore and Godwill Mamhiyo – and all-rounder Philip Kleynhans. Wicketkeeper-batsman Lee-Roy Walters has returned.

Brackenfell Cricket Club finished in ninth position in the 2021-22 WPCA premier league, after eight wins and 12 defeats.
