Burma Lads Cricket Club’s Patrick Kruger enjoyed a superb debut for the Knights in key T20 Challenge fixture against the Cape Cobras on the weekend.
Kruger, who scored consecutive centuries in the National Club Championship and represented the South Africa Emerging Players earlier this year, has cherished a very successful year.
Saturday saw him strike a brisk half-century and clinch two important wickets, as the Knights defeated the Cobras by 38 runs at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.
The talented right-hander’s 76 spanned a mere 49 deliveries – and featured seven fours and a quartet of sixes. He was particularly impressive against former South Africa fast bowler Rory Kleinveldt and West Indies seamer Kieron Pollard.
Right-arm seamer Kruger later removed wicketkeeper-batsman Keegan Petersen and Pollard to complete telling figures of two for 30.
The Knights will play the Titans in Benoni on Friday – and Warriors on Sunday.
