Batsman Josh Chippendale has joined Cape Town Cricket Club ahead of the 2024-25 Western Province Cricket Association premier league.
Chippendale previously played for Strandfontein Cricket Club – and was the fourth-highest run-scorer during the 2023-24 Western Province Cricket Association first division A.
He has been capped in professional cricket by the Warriors – and has been practising with Western Province ahead of the 2024-25 domestic season.
Chippendale will be accompanied by wicketkeeper-batsman Justin Gilliland, who has also moved to Cape Town Cricket Club from Strandfontein Cricket Club.
All-rounders Lukanyo Metu and Luke Kleinsmith have joined Cape Town Cricket Club as well. Metu previously played for Milnerton Cricket Club during the 2023-24 WPCA premier league and reserve division A – and Kleinsmith is currently playing for South Africa Under-19 Emerging in Zimbabwe.
All-rounders Raees Carr and Christiaan Oberholzer have exited Cape Town Cricket Club for Yorkshire Cricket Club and Rondebosch Cricket Club, respectively.
Cape Town Cricket Club ended the 2023-24 WPCA premier league in fourth position with 13 wins and eight defeats. They recently appointed new head coach William Hantam – and batsman Tristan Coetzee has been named captain following the retirement of all-rounder Geoff Dods.
