San Francisco Unicorns beat MI New York by 22 runs in this week’s Major League Cricket fixture at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas.

Former New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson top-scored with 91 not out in San Francisco Unicorns’ final total of 215 for five in 20 overs. Fast bowlers Trent Boult and Kagiso Rabada took two wicket each.

Opener Dewald Brevis hit 32 and Australian Tim David 53 not out in MI New York’s response of 193 for five in 20 overs. Former Gauteng seamer Carmi le Roux and former England seamer Liam Plunkett took two wickets each.

“I live here and still can’t get used to the heat. It was tough but glad with the win. The wicket played a little bit slowly and we weren’t looking at 200,” said Anderson, who was named Player of the Match.
