The venue for Saturday, 3 March 2018’s limited-overs fixture between Western Province and the WP Club XI has changed from the Vineyard Oval in Claremont to Western Province Cricket Club’s Wally Wilson Oval.

The change will suit seamers Ryan Klein and Wesley Bedja, who opened the bowling at this venue in key 2017-18 Western Province Cricket Association premier league matches against Brackenfell Cricket Club and Ottoman Cricket Club prior to the cancellation of the season due to the ongoing drought in Cape Town and surrounds.

Bedja was particularly impressive en route to a second-innings four-wicket haul in defeat to Ottoman Cricket Club. Klein, meanwhile, fared relatively well with bat and ball in last week’s two-day encounter against Western Province.

The second game on Sunday, 4 March will be played at the Vineyard Oval, as originally scheduled.

The WP Club XI will likely include Bellville Cricket Club’s Dewald Botha and Uwe Birkenstock. The pair were named in the squad for all three fixtures, but were unavailable for the first.
