Claremont Cricket Club have retained captain Josh Breed for the 2022-23 Western Province Cricket Association premier league.
Breed was appointed in July 2020. He succeeded former captain Mark Hendricks.
Breed missed several matches during the 2021-22 WPCA premier league due to injury. Batsman Matthew de Villiers captained in his absence.
Claremont Cricket Club finished in sixth position in the 2021-22 WPCA premier league, after nine victories and as many defeats.
Their second XI won the 2021-22 reserve division A with 17 wins and two defeats.
Johnson stays, too
Claremont Cricket Club have also retained head coach Allison Johnson.
Johnson was appointed in August 2019. He joined Claremont Cricket Club after a stint with Green Point Cricket Club.
