Club Cricket SA are pleased to announce our participation in the inaugural Cape Town Cricket Sixes festival, which will be played at Green Point Cricket Club on 19 and 20 March 2016.
Featuring players from Claremont Cricket Club, Cape Town Cricket Club, Western Province Cricket Club, Blue Bells Cricket Club and Green Point Cricket Club, Club Cricket SA will compete in 20 March’s premier league.
The Club Cricket SA team will be captained and vice-captained by Cape Town CC seamer Jonhenry Wilson and Western Province CC all-rounder Alessandro Bonora respectively, with Green Point CC wicketkeeper-batsman Zac Elkin, Blue Bells CC batsman Nasri Alexander and Claremont CC duo Liam Brittow and Leon Botha also selected.
The remainder of the 10-man squad, which will play a minimum of three matches of six overs per innings, will be announced on Thursday, 17 March. Several Green Point Cricket Club, Cape Town Cricket Club, United Cricket Club and Bergvliet Cricket Club players are in contention for the final four berths.
The tournament also boasts social, corporate, future stars, development, old boys cup and lager leagues.
Former South African fast bowlers Rory Kleinveldt, Meyrick Pringle and Allan Donald and all-rounder Robin Peterson will play for the Toshiba Tigers in the lager league.
