The ninth and final Club Cricket SA Player of the Week accolade of 2015 goes to Claremont Cricket Club’s Adam Ball.

Ball joined the Cape Town-based club at the start of the Western Province Cricket Association season, eager to “use the spell in South Africa for some warm-weather training and strength and conditioning work before the 2016 county season.”

The Kent-based all-rounder is the first non-South African to win the Club Cricket SA Player of the Week award, after scoring a masterful century against Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club – and clinching fine figures of five for 55 – at Claremont Cricket Club on Saturday, 12 December 2015.

The talented 22-year-old’s commanding 107 not out, which featured 11 fours and one six, spanned 109 deliveries – and resulted in a straightforward five-wicket WPCA One Day Cup triumph for the hosts.

The telling three-figure vigil was superbly supported by the hard-hitting Josh Bent, whose quickfire 83 was struck off a mere 52 balls – including 10 fours and a quartet of handsome sixes.
