Avendale Cricket Club’s Dylan Solomon wins the latest Club Cricket SA Player of the Week award.
Solomon struck a sterling century against Claremont Cricket Club on Saturday, 23 January’s 2016.
The patient opening batsman’s 102 spanned 195 deliveries and featured 14 boundaries, consistently challenging a strong opposition attack spearheaded by English professional Adam Ball.
The fine vigil, however, was not enough to guide the visitors to triumph in the key Western Province Cricket Association first division A fixture in Cape Town’s southern suburbs.
“It was one of my better knocks, but would have been greater if we had won the game,” Solomons told Club Cricket SA.
“I have been struggling to score big runs over the past few seasons and hope that this is the turning point for me and for Avendale Cricket Club.
“We will take alot of confidence from our second innings against Claremont Cricket Club, as we showed great fight and hope we can display it through the season.”
