Club Cricket SA’s inaugural Player of the Week accolade goes to Mark van Heerden, whose recent move from Stellenbosch University Cricket Club in the Western Cape to KwaZulu-Natal’s Crusaders Cricket Club has brought opening success.
The talented left-hander amassed a fine century for CCC’s second team, against Chatsworth Sporting Club. The boundary-laden 108 was particularly brisk, with van Heerden reaching three figures inside the opening 20 overs of the innings.
The 24-year-old will be eager to capitalise – and soon push for selection in the first XI, who are captained by Michael Alexander.
Alexander’s predecessor, Rob Clift, became the club’s chairman earlier this year. HollywoodBets.Net Crusaders Cricket Club are the current National Club Championship title holders.
