The remarkable feat of four wickets in four consecutive deliveries has earned Cravenby Cricket Club’s Quayum Camroodien the latest Club Cricket SA Player of the week award.
Camroodien’s telling achievement carried the hosts to a comfortable win over Helderberg Cricket Club in the Western Province Cricket Association third division B recently.
The talented spinner finished with fine figures of five for seven in five overs. Three of his victims were stumped, one bowled and one removed lbw.
He narrowly beat Strandfontein Cricket Club’s Saliegh Jaffar to this week’s accolade. Jaffar completed a superb second-innings seven-for to finish with a match haul of a dozen wickets in a key WPCA first division A win over Edgemead Cricket Club.
