Crusaders Cricket Club’s Robbie Frylinck has claimed the first Club Cricket SA Player of the Week award for the 2019-20 season.

Frylinck, who was on debut for Crusaders Cricket Club after leaving Pinetown Cricket Club, swatted a big century in a 59-run victory over Berea Rovers Cricket Club in a key KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union T20 fixture on Sunday, 29 September.

The hard-hitting right-hander’s 133 spanned a mere 54 deliveries – and featured 13 fours and nine sixes.

He shared an entertaining 160-run second-wicket partnership with opener Cameron Delport, who contributed 46.

Frylinck and Delport were accompanied by fellow Dolphins stars Marques Ackerman, Eathan Bosch and Calvin Savage among the Crusaders’ top- through middle-order.

The 35-year-old Frylinck, who played three T20Is for the Proteas in 2017 and 2018, represented the title-winning Pietermaritzburg Spurs in the 2019 Dolphins Premier League earlier this month. He also played for KwaZulu-Natal, who lost the final to Easterns, in this month’s Provincial T20 Cup (formerly Africa T20 Cup)
