Club Cricket SA Player of the Week: Winslow Bedien

Winslow Bedien Club Cricket SA Player of the Week

Consecutive centuries have belatedly earned Kensington Cricket Club’s Winslow Bedien the latest Club Cricket SA Player of the Week accolade.

Bedien struck an impressive 101 in a challenging Western Province Cricket Association first division C fixture against Elsies River Northlink Cricket Club – and amassed a remarkable 134 not out against Yorkshire Cricket Club in the Ama20 Competition recently.

The latter innings from the hard-hitting right-hander, who was appointed as captain earlier this year, was particularly entertaining – and featured a dozen fours and seven sixes.

“Winslow was on fire, with some proper, clean hitting from the right handed opener. Both knocks were seriously good, chanceless and of great quality. If he keeps going at this rate, he will score 1,000 runs in the season,” Kensington Cricket Club coach Angelo Adams told Club Cricket SA.

The hard-hitting right-hander narrowly beat Claremont Cricket Club’s James Cameron-Dow and Primrose Cricket Club’s David Schierhout to this week’s accolade.

Cameron-Dow welcomed a fine century in premier league victory over Rondebosch Cricket Club, while Schierhout clinched a telling 13 wickets in first division A triumph over Northerns Goodwood Cricket Club.
