Patel struck a swashbuckling 172 not out in a key Sunday Three fixture against the Ennerdale Desert Eagles Cricket Club.
The hard-hitting right-hander put the so-called Freeway Zulfikaars to the sword, wallopping a resounding 26 fours and six handsome sixes.
Captain Patel’s commanding innings, with plenty of support from half-centurion Geoff Hanson, saw WCC successfully pursue a staunch 306-run target with more than a dozen overs to spare.
