Durban’s Super Giants have signed West Indies batsman Nicholas Pooran for the 2024 edition of the SA20.
Pooran recently hit a century for MI New York in Major League Cricket in the United States of America – and another for the Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League.
Durban’s Super Giants ended the 2023 SA20 in second-last position after four wins, five defeats and one no-result.
Spinner Keshav Maharaj has since succeeded wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock as Durban’s Super Giants captain.
Meanwhile, former Proteas spinner Robin Peterson has been named MI Cape Town head coach.
Peterson was previously MI Cape Town’s general manager. He has succeeded former MI Cape Town head coach Simon Katich.
Peterson coached MI New York to the inaugural Major League Cricket title in the United States of America earlier this year.
Former Sri Lanka fast bowler Lasith Malinga has succeeded former New Zealand all-rounder Jacob Oram as MI Cape Town bowling coach.
Former Proteas captain Hashim Amla has been retained as MI Cape Town batting coach.
