Harry Finch replaces fellow overseas pro Harry Came at Claremont Cricket Club in WPCA premier league

Claremont Cricket Club have signed Kent batsman Harry Finch for the second half of the 2022-23 Western Province Cricket Association premier league.

Finch will replace Derbyshire batsman Harry Came at Claremont Cricket Club. Came is returning to the United Kingdom.

CPT Cricket Tours facilitated the arrangement between Finch and Claremont Cricket Club.

“Finch will play for Claremont Cricket Club after the December break,” read a statement from CPT Cricket Tours.

Harry was part of Kent’s One-Day Cup campaign earlier this year, when they secured their their first 50-over title since 1978.

“His successful, short spell with Kent was rewarded with a two-year contract – and he is heading to Cape Town to prepare for the upcoming county cricket season.”

CPT Cricket Tours bring overseas pros to Cape Town

CPT Cricket Tours were also responsible for returning Gloucestershire batsman Chris Dent to Brackenfell Cricket Club and signing Worcestershire wicketkeeper-batsman Gareth Roderick to Green Point Cricket Club for the ongoing WPCA premier league.

CPT Cricket Tours have placed several other professional cricketers from abroad at Cape Town-based clubs this season and in recent years, including:

  • Adam Ball (Claremont Cricket Club);
  • Chris Dent (Brackenfell Cricket Club);
  • Miles Hammond (Brackenfell Cricket Club);
  • Charlie Hartley (Durbanville Cricket Club);
  • Imran Qayyum (Victoria Cricket Club);
  • Ivan Thomas (Edgemead Cricket Club); and
  • Alex Blake (Pinelands Cricket Club).

“Harry will follow a series of Kent players to head to Cape Town for the UK winter, including Kent legend, CPT Cricket Tours ambassador and former Claremont Cricket Club player-coach Darren Stevens, who was instrumental in facilitating yet another exciting placement,” added CPT Cricket Tours.

CPT Cricket Tours will announce two more signings – one to Kraaifontein Cricket Club and another to the University of the Western Cape Cricket Club – later this week.
