The Cape Peninsula University of Technology Cricket Club are hiring a new head coach ahead of the 2025-26 Western Province Cricket Association season.
CPUT Cricket Club ended the 2024-25 WPCA second division in last position. They won two and lost 19 fixtures.
CPUT Cricket Club listed several required competencies for the head coach role, including:
- “in-depth cricket knowledge;
- “excellent tactical analysis and opposition assessment;
- “strong understanding of rules, regulations and laws;
- “ability to apply modern coaching and mentoring principles;
- “good communication skills; and
- “strong work ethic, self-motivation and accountability.”
Multiple other education institutions have cricket clubs in WPCA competition, including the University of the Western Cape Cricket Club, University of Cape Town Cricket Club and Varsity College.
Victoria Cricket Club and Edgemead Cricket Club, meanwhile, are also hiring new head coaches. Edgemead Cricket Club and Victoria Cricket Club have been promoted to the WPCA first division A and premier league, respectively.
