CSA announce 28 players for Emerging Academy intake, including 5 WP representatives

Cricket South Africa have confirmed the 2025 Emerging Academy intake for men and women.

Titans spinner Schalk Engelbrecht, Lions batsman Conner Esterhuizen, Dolphins seamer and Tristan Luus have been included in the men’s intake. Warriors seamer Ntando Soni, Lions batsman Richard Seletswane and South Western Districts batsman George van Heerden have also been included.

Western Province players Leah Jones, Kayla Reyneke, Oluhle Siyo, Faye Tunnicliffe and Caitlyn Wyngaard have been included in the women’s intake.

“The Emerging Academy remains a cornerstone of our development pathway, providing a high-performance platform to identify, nurture, and upskill the most promising talent in South African cricket,” said CSA head of high performance Grant van Velden.

“It’s incredibly exciting to welcome such a gifted group of youngsters from under-19 and provincial cricket into this elite environment.

“Congratulations to the class of 2025. We look forward to seeing you grow, both as cricketers and as individuals, in the months ahead.”

The academy will run from June to July.
