Former fast bowler Dale Steyn has insisted batsman Dewald Brevis be included in South Africa’s squad for the 2023 World Cup.
Brevis is currently playing for MI Cape Town in the inaugural edition of the SA20. He struck 70 not out from 41 deliveries in this week’s victory over the Paarl Royals at Newlands.
Brevis has also represented the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premier League.
“Brevis MUST go to this year’s World Cup,” Steyn wrote on social media.
Steyn is among the Sunrisers Eastern Cape coaching staff for the 2023 SA20.
The 2023 World Cup will be played in October and November. India will host the tournament.
