Dane Piedt takes 11-for as South Africa A level series

South Africa A beat West Indies A by 232 runs on day four of this week’s first-class fixture at Buffalo Park in East London.

South Africa A totalled 298 all out and 297 for four declared. West Indies A responded with 154 all out and 209 all out.

South Africa A spinner Dane Piedt took five for 28 in the first innings and six for 79 in the second for final match figures of 11 for 107.

This is the fourth 10-wicket match haul of Piedt’s first-class career, who was capped nine times in Test cricket from 2014 to 2019.

He recently returned to South African domestic cricket after playing Minor and Major League Cricket in the United States of America.

Piedt, who used to play for Western Province, has since moved to the Knights.

West Indies A won last week’s series opener at Willowmoore Park in Benoni by one wicket.

The series decider will be played at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein next week.
